Akania bidwillii (Turnipwood) is a species of flowering plant in the Akaniaceae family. It is native to New South Wales and Queensland in Australia.
This species is a tree growing up to 12 meters tall, with rough bark. The leaves are mainly pinnate, divided into 8-31 lanceolate leaflets with spiny toothed edges. They are colored dark green on the top of the leaf, but the underside is paler. Each leaflet measures 10-28 cm long by 2-4.5 cm wide. The flowers are white and pink, emerging in panicles 8-15 cm long. The fruit is a capsule, brown to red in color, containing 1 or 2 yellow seeds insdie.
