Commiphora myrrha is a tree found in the Burseraceae family. It is one of the trees used in production of myrrh, a resin of dried tree sap. This species is native to the Arabian penninsula in Oman and Yemen, and the continent of Africa in Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya.

The plant is very spiny and grows up to 4 meters. It lives well in thin soil or limestone.
