Corymbia dallachiana (Dallachy's gum or Ghost gum) is a species of flowering plant in the Myrtaceae family. It is native to Eastern Australia.
Description[]
It is an evergreen tree, growing up to 20 m in height. Its bark is white to cream in color, and may have a slight-pink tinge, often with brown scales. The bark sheds seasonally in thin scales. White flowers will appear from late summer to midwinter. When they mature into a fruit capsule that are woody, brown in color, and goblet shaped.
Distribution[]
The ghost gum occurs in several regions in Australia, from humid coastal regions to arid regions up to 1000 km inland. It is indicative of infertile and shallow soils of the coastal regions, but occupies a wider range of environments in the more arid parts of its range. In western parts of Central Queensland, the species integrades with Corymbia aparrerinja, a species with it which was once lumped as C. papuana.
