Foetidia mauritiana commonly known as the stinkwood, due to the odor of its wood, is an evergreen tree or shrub in the Lecythidaceae family. Its leaves are alternate. The flowers are in short bracteate racemes, with 4-6 free petals. The fruit is a berry that holds atleast one seed. It is found on the islands of Mauritius, Réunion, and Madagascar.
