Naming and discovery |
Psilophyton is a fossil genus which currently contains 8 species of extinct plants known mostly from compression, impression, and permineralized anatomy. Most specimens come from northern Maine, Gaspé Bay of Quebec, New Brunswick, and the Czech Republic. The average specimen was 60 cm or more tall.
