Naming and discovery

Rosales is a large order of flowering plants, containing nine families. These families are shown by the genetic analysis by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group (APG) to be related. This analysis placed the order of the Cronquist system, Urticales into a the Rosales order. In the APG system, known examples of this order are roses, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples, pears, plums, peaches, apricots, almonds, rowans, hawthorn, elms, figs, nettles, hops, and cannabis.
